PUMA Signs Michelle Jenneke 2Australian Sprint Hurdler the Latest Female Athlete to Join Global Sports Brand

Herzogenaurach, Germany (9 September, 2015) – PUMA announced today it has signed an endorsement deal with Michelle Jenneke.  The 22 year-old sprint hurdler joins the Global Sport brand’s growing female family that was further bolstered with the signing of 2015 US NCAA 100m Champion Jenna Prandini two weeks ago.

PUMA is placing greater emphasis on increasing its appeal to a female audience, with Jenneke bringing the perfect blend of performance and personality to this category.  The 2015 IAAF World ChampionshipTM semi-finalist recorded the second fastest time ever by an Australian woman in the sprint hurdles this year, while her pre-race warm up at the 2012 World Junior Championships saw her become an internet sensation as the ‘Dancing Hurdler’.  She will be used in cross category global marketing activations in the years ahead.

Michelle Jenneke said, “Signing with PUMA is an exciting move for me as it’s a sport brand with a lot of personality.  I feel I’m an athlete that brings some character to the sport and its important for me to work with like-minded people.  The next year is going to be a very exciting one, after the experience of my first World Championships I couldn’t be more motivated to keep training hard to achieve my best possible results   for both myself and my country. I have no doubt PUMA will be a great partner to me and I am looking forward to being an ambassador for such an iconic brand.

Johan Adamsson, Global Director of Sports Marketing at PUMA added, “As we continue to bolster our female family, it’s important for us to sign athletes who fit our brand persona.  Michelle Jenneke clearly has great athletic potential but with an effervescent personality that ensures she stands out, making her a great fit for PUMA.  She is a very likeable person with a steely determination to do well, and we’re very happy to have her with us.”
